What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)?

A QCD is an IRS tool
that allows
those 70½ and older
to transform
a taxable IRA withdrawal
into a tax-free
charitable gift.
Reduce Your Taxable Income
Unlike standard IRA withdrawals, the entire QCD amount is excluded from your gross taxable yearly income.
Tax-free Giving
Donors can transfer up to $100K annually directly from their IRA to a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit such as Skilled Volunteers for Israel.
Satisfy Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
At age 73 and above, your
QCD withdrawal counts toward this requirement.
It fulfills your IRS obligation
without increasing your tax bill.

Volunteer Tutors
Who are English B'Yachad volunteers?
The majority of the English B’Yachad volunteer tutors are retired Jewish professionals. Some are seasoned professionals still in the workforce. Most of them reside in the United States and Canada.
Since volunteers work remotely, they can reside anywhere.

Your gift strengthens English B’Yachad,
connecting Jewish professionals
with Israelis
eager to advance their confidence in English
and their careers.

English B'Yachad tutors represent a wide range of professions.
Our volunteers have worked in fields such as such as business, healthcare, law, education, and the arts. This rich professional diversity allows us to thoughtfully pair mentors with students. Our students also bring varying backgrounds and needs to the program.
Do volunteers need Hebrew or teaching experience to tutor?
No. Such skills are not required. However, if you do have these skills, there are students who will benefit from your knowledge and experience.
English B'Yachad volunteers share a unique camaraderie.
When tutors join our monthly online Tutor Talks, they find a community that shares:
-
a love of Israel
-
a desire to make a difference
-
the willingness to give time to help others
