I had the unique opportunity to volunteer at the Learning Center in the Dr. Helena Kagan Youth Center this past summer. I helped facilitate enrichment activities in English as a second language for neighborhood children and adults in Katamonim, an underprivileged area in Jerusalem.
To say that I learned more from them is an understatement and I am only hoping that I made a small contribution in their lives. The joy that I received when they comprehended a story or the smiles on their faces when I played games with them are priceless memories
As an educator and educational director of an afternoon religious school, I am looking forward to sharing my stories with my students and to impart to them that everyone has something to give to others and how much one can receive once it is given.
